Water Billing Procedures

Valley Water District customer’s statements are mailed on the first day of every-other month. Valley System and Alderwood System bills go out on the even numbered months and bills for the customers of all the other systems are mailed on the odd numbered months. The District physically reads water meters every two months prior to calculating water bills. Hence, a two-month bill reflects water and services already used.

Payment of your water bill is due 10 days from the bill date.

  • Payments made in cash, check, or money order can be received in the District Office. No debit or credit transactions are available in the office.
  • Debit or credit transactions and bank check payments can be made at the Account Status Page or by calling 1-877-651-3865. Applicable convenience fees will apply for internet and telephone payment transactions.
  • A 10% penalty is charged if payment is not received by the 25th day of the month in which it is due.
  • If payment is not received 30 days after the original due date, a $25.00 Termination Notice Fee is assessed to the account.
  • When payment is not received within one week of the Termination Notice, a fee of $80.00 is assessed to the account and the water meter is shut off and locked.
  • Full payment, including all late fees and penalties is required to restore service.

WATER RATES

The Valley Water District Base Rate consists of combined maintenance and operation costs plus disbursement to the principle and interest payments on Public Works Trust Fund Loans and a 20-year Bond. The charges that appear on a bi-monthly billing statement are a break out of the base rate to show the distribution of revenue, so that the District’s customers may understand where their payments are going. Base Fee is the portion of the base rate that covers the maintenance and operational costs of your water system. With the monies collected for Plant Acquisition (referring to water system purchases) and Capital Improvements, the District makes the Bond and Public Works Trust Fund payments.

The rates shown below are for a regular residential (5/8” meter) with a single dwelling connection. For information on rates for additional types of service or other meter sizes please email the office or call 253-841-9698.
