Construction and restoration has been completed. The District will be preparing a final punch list for the contractor.  Please contact the District with any restoration concerns by 1:00 p.m. Monday October 16, 2023 so these can be added to the final punch list to be addressed by the contractor.

Service outage for the SR162 Phase 2 Tie In on September 21st – Tie In is expected to be completed by 5:30 pm.

After that time, if you turn your water on and it is discolored or cloudy, please attempt to flush your water thru a front hose bib (to not draw water in to your home) for 5-10 minutes.  If the water does not clear up after that, please contact us.

Update 9/14/23

SR162 Phase 2 North/South – Tie-In on September 19th and September 21st

The SR162 watermain replacement project tie-in for Phase 2 will occur on Tuesday, September 19th from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Thursday, September 21st from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Only a portion of the customers in Phase 2 will be effected on both of those days.  Please check your yellow door hanger for the day or days you will be effected.  (Special note: Noble Firs Mobile Home Park will be effected both days)

The work will consist of the following:

 1.       Water will be disconnected so the contractor can connect the new watermain that was installed in the SR162 Right of Way to the existing water infrastructure.    

2.       Staff will immediately start flushing the watermains to reduce the presence of discolored water.

Update 9/8/23 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Service Interruption Date Change

Valley Water District notified you by yellow door hanger of a service interruption date for next week.  That service interruption date has been changed to Wednesday, September 13th, from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.  Please see below for details.

SR162 Phase 3 South – Tie-In on Weds, September 13th 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The SR162 watermain replacement project tie-in on Wednesday, September 13th will affect approximately 14 homes.  This notice is being delivered to those customers who will have their water service interrupted Wednesday, September 13th all day from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

 The work will consist of the following:

 1.       Water will be disconnected so the contractor can connect the new watermain that was installed in the SR162 Right of Way to the existing water infrastructure.    

2.       Staff will immediately start flushing the watermains to reduce the presence of discolored water.

SR162 Phase 3 North – Tie-In on August 31st 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The SR162 watermain replacement project tie-in on Thursday August 31st will affect approximately 10 homes South of 106th Street E on SR162.  This notice will be delivered to those customers who will have their water service interrupted Thursday August 31st all day from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

 The work will consist of the following:

 1.       Water will be disconnected so the contractor can connect the new watermain that was installed in the SR162 Right of Way to the existing water infrastructure.    

2.       Staff will immediately start flushing the watermains to reduce the presence of discolored water.

The District apologizes that the last service interruption took longer than anticipated.  We have communicated to the contractor that they need to do everything in their power to not exceed the approved shut down period and water needs to be restored prior to 5:30 p.m.

106th Street East - service outage August 29th - Water is now restored.

Update 8/24/23 - 11:45 a.m.

106th Street East - service outage August 29th 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The SR162 Watermain replacement project tie-in on 106th Street East and SR162 will take place on Tuesday August 29th.  Customers with connections to the system on 106th Street East will be out of service all day from 7:00 a.m - 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday August 29th.

PHASE 3 NORTH

Unfortunately the water system outage will likely not be complete until closer to 7:30 p.m. or 8:00 p.m.  The process has taken significantly longer than anticipated.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but we cannot stop the process at this point.

Once service is restored staff will begin flushing immediately and will continue to flush through the evening.

Updated 8/17/23 - SERVICE INTERUPTIONS - PHASE 3 NORTH

PHASE 3 NORTH

The SR162 watermain replacement project tie-ins will begin with Phase 3 North on Tuesday August 22ndCustomers in Phase 3 North (referenced in the letter posted below with maps) will be out of service all day from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday August 22nd.

The work will consist of the following:

1.       Water will be disconnected and the contractor will connect the existing water system to a portion of the new watermain (tie-in #1). 

2.       After that connection is complete, the contractor will start the process of switching over individual services which will take several days.

3.       During that process, your service may be out for a short period of time (approximately an hour). 

4.       After all of the services in this phase are switched to the new watermain the contractor will tie in the other end of Phase 3 North which will require an additional shut down of service.  The date of this shut down will depend on how smoothly the service connections go.

5.       The District will provide notice 48 hours before the next shut down of Phase 3 North here on the website, via IVR (phone calls) and will post sign boards in the general area of Phase 3 North.  Service will likely again be out from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Valley Water District will be starting the SR 162 Watermain Replacement Project at the end of April 2023.  Please see below for a brief summary of the project:

The SR 162 Watermain Replacement Project is broken into two phases. The first phase will install approximately 1,460 feet of 12-inch diameter ductile iron water pipe from 122nd St E to just south of Military Road E. The second phase will install approximately 3,530 feet of 12-inch ductile iron water pipe from 115th St E to just south of 103rd St E. All work will take place in the northbound shoulder of SR 162. Both phases will replace fire hydrants and service connections to customers. Driveways and vegetation disturbed during this project will be restored.
