CAREER OPPORTUNITY Position Summary: Excellent career opportunity with Local Government Agency, Valley Water District. We are seeking a full-time, permanent Receptionist/Customer Service Representative. This position is the first point of contact working to promote and maintain a positive relationship between the District and its customers by handling questions and concerns, assisting with payments, taking phone calls using a multi-line phone system, and various other office-related operations of the District that require experience with office equipment and computers (including knowledge of Microsoft programs).Minimum Qualifications: · High School diploma or GED, or any combination of experience and education, which provides the skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job. · Experience with office work and computers sufficient to perform the job. · Intermediate level experience with Miscrosoft Office applications. POSITION DUTIES
General Responsibilities: · Assist customers by answering questions, resolving issues, explaining services, policies and procedures. First point of contact on phones, front office, and email. · Process mail payments & credit card payments. Prepare daily deposits. · Process Closings - Escrow Requests & Final Bills. · Set up new customer accounts and mail Welcome packets. · Maintain customer records (physical and electronic files). · Scan, file and maintain District records related to position duties. · Process Water Availability Letters and New Meter Applications. · Process customer mailings (penalties, termination notices, etc) · Perform general clerical tasks as needed. · Cross-training of additional office duties as skills develop. · Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Desired Skills/Knowledge: Requires knowledge of office work and computer system operations sufficient to perform duties in a thorough and accurate manner. · Knowledge of basic accounting practices, including utility billing. · Ability to use good judgment. · Ability to work with general supervision. · Proficiency with office equipment and computers. · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with customers and other District personnel and advisors. · Ability to work with numbers accurately, including use of decimals and percentages. · Ability to type at 50 wpm and 10-key. · Punctuality and good attendance. · Ability to prioritize assignments and meet multiple deadlines. Licenses, Certificates, and Other Requirements: · Valid Washington State Driver’s License, with a good record. · Will be required to pass valid background verification.
